This book reads like a collection of short stories. I personally found this multiple-POV confusing, altho I’m not against that style per se.
If you want to know if you should read it, read the authors review/note. He explains how he doesn’t explain things, haha.

There were too many characters and none of them had any discernible features so I was confused as to who was whom for the entire book. Vignettes and timelines/parallel worlds were all over the place and the plot of two warring magical factions felt slapped together.

It took a little while to make sense of the narrative structure of No Gods, No Monsters, which bounces between half a dozen different points of view and is told by a mysterious, magical narrator that you almost forget is there until they switch to first person. Once I “gave in” to the story, however, I really enjoyed it. The narrative switching adds to the sense of both resignation and exasperation I’ve felt in our political climate, which is appropriate given the events of this book. I’ll definitely be reading the sequel.
Honestly loved this and immediately looked for a sequel. It’s weird, wild, and doesn’t say anything twice. This book assumes the reader has a certain level of intelligence and it definitely asks you to pay attention.
From the unique narration to the intertwined convoluted story lines and numerous characters… there’s a LOT to keep track of, but that’s part of the joy and wonder I got from this book.

Such a strange, cool world the author has crafted here. (Or should I say, worlds lol). There are definitely a lot of characters to keep up with, and some are more memorable/interesting than others unfortunately.
