It's only April, but I'm almost certain this will end up being one of my favorite books of the year! The artwork is absolute stunning, and the story about the challenges of becoming and being a grown-up and aging through the eyes of three protagonists with vastly different perspectives really struck a chord with me. This is one of the rare books I can see being enjoyable for readers across generations.

This middle-grade graphic novel was SO beautiful. I absolutely loved it. The art is fantastic and the story is wonderful and wholesome. There is so much of what it means to develop friendship, let go when it’s time to let go, and the courage to be yourself. Alexa’s story was so powerful and definitely made me emotional—I love that the book splits between her POV and Lora. Lora is fun and quirky and kind, and she is wanting to keep friends and fit in. And Alexa gives her room and reminders to just be herself. Highly recommend this.

The ending of this made me very emotional!!!

SO CUTE! A great resolution, though we have to grow up, we don't have to lose the magic that makes life worth living.

An absolutely precious graphic novel about growing up and finding your place in friendships. The illustrations were just the right amount of whimsical to show the magic and imagination of childhood. Obsessed!

This was a very cute graphic novel about growing up and believing in magic. The illustrations were really beautiful and I loved the bright colours. I'm definitely going to look out for more of Yee's work because I really enjoyed her art and storytelling style.

A whimsical and emotional read that focuses on growing up and embracing imagination and magic as you grow older. Including bisexual representation in the main character and a PG rating throughout this book is a great read for middle grade readers who love magic, witches, and ghosts and readers who aren't quite ready to grow up.
