This middle-grade graphic novel was SO beautiful. I absolutely loved it. The art is fantastic and the story is wonderful and wholesome. There is so much of what it means to develop friendship, let go when it’s time to let go, and the courage to be yourself. Alexa’s story was so powerful and definitely made me emotional—I love that the book splits between her POV and Lora. Lora is fun and quirky and kind, and she is wanting to keep friends and fit in. And Alexa gives her room and reminders to just be herself. Highly recommend this.

An absolutely precious graphic novel about growing up and finding your place in friendships. The illustrations were just the right amount of whimsical to show the magic and imagination of childhood. Obsessed!

A whimsical and emotional read that focuses on growing up and embracing imagination and magic as you grow older. Including bisexual representation in the main character and a PG rating throughout this book is a great read for middle grade readers who love magic, witches, and ghosts and readers who aren't quite ready to grow up.

I absolutely loved this beautifully illustrated exploration of self-expression, growing up, imagination, death, grief, and moving forward. Every page has something fun or imaginative to discover, and the characters are a lot of fun. I didn't anticipate this exploring loss and grief, and it was handled really well. I didn't pick this as a Halloween read, but it was fun to read now since it includes Halloween.
