Disappointed by the rushed narration of events.

Once again, there was NO climax. Now that I have read 90-something more pages, I’m not that invested in any of the characters.

Charlie has this weird inner-Monster voice that takes over randomly. I thought she would be FUNNY AND WITTY AND SMART but she just kind of cycled through “shut up,” “be quiet,” AND “asshole.” Even when she had AMAZING opportunities for comebacks, she just growls “asshole.”

Drew is the only normal, sweet, funny, kind one. But even he is borderline one-dimensional.

Noah, the broody bad boi love interest is actually uncomfortable to read about. He tries so hard to make dirty jokes, that it’s a little bit pitiful. His interestions with Charlie are basically him making everything into a sex joke, while she throws variations of “shut up asshole.” Then Charlie goes on about all the sexual tension this is all creating for her. I think she may be misreading the situation, because it all read like the driest exchange ever.

Examples of some stuff I found weird:

“Another second passed, and I stare in Noah’s beautiful eyes, frowning at what I see in their depths. Something more than an arrogant bounty hunter.”

Well, first of all, Noah is still maintaining those cringey douche bag vibes. He hasn’t don’t much to deserve any other characterization. I don’t understand how his eyes could signal another dimension to his personality. Also, I’d rather the authors show us the levels to Noah’s personality than tell us about it through the look in his ~expressive eyes~.

“...the procedure is toimmediately burn it. But I pulled some strings— G Strings, to be be exact— to have one discreetly...”

This is said directly from Noah, a potential love interest’s mouth. I don’t think I need to explain how douche-bag-ish this is.

Just like in the first book, we speed through the daily doings of Charlie’s life, with little speckles of intrigue, but when we get to an ACTUALLY potentially interesting plot.... BAM.... “End of Volume 2.”

I want to know what happens to Drew, and that’s why I’ll be reading on, but I wouldn’t give a shit if Noah and Charlie got eaten by Weepers at this point.

Such a great part of the serial!!! Loved reading about all the sexy vampires and seeing how the plot thickened...and that plot twist at the end has me craving more. While reading, I kept saying “just one more page” until I had finished the book and it was WAY past my bedtime haha.

So I told myself that I would not read the next volumes until they all released. Here I am, and I just finished volume 2.

It picks up where the last volume ended, and this was much more entertaining, spicy and mysterious. I don't think I got many answers in this volume, just more questions though.

The pacing does starts to pick up and once Charlie started to get settled in (as did I) boom it ends and we are back at square one. Kicked out and back on the streets. Deja vu? And a cliffhanger! Of course because it's only 7 chapters long!

"Where Drew is soft and kind and light, Noah is sharp and wicked and dark."

Okay, I really don't want to choose between these two, but Noah is not my favorite. I like dark, broody fictional men, but this guy is a jerk! Then there is Drew's sister. I was just starting to warm up to Nina, and then bam! She ruins everything.

Charlie is still battling her own insecurities and inner conflicts. She's still trying to find a place in this new world and her place in all this.

Overall, the Charlie Travesty series is pure entertainment and addicting. It satisfied my vampire romance craving I didn't even know I had (I blame From Blood and Ash), and now I want more of it and can't wait for the last 2 volumes.

I'm with the "You and me against the world" kind of thing but I'm team Noah with this.

So much happened in this installment! WOW! A thing happened that I saw coming but hadn't wanted to happen. Another thing happened that I didn't see coming at all. Feelings! Emotions! Action! So much action!

There's nothing specific I can say about this that won't spoil things if you haven't read the first part (why haven't you read the first part? really, you should). I will say: Noah *fans self* and also that I love seeing the conflict Charlie has within herself. It's so poignant.

I will also say that I read this through in one sitting. That's how compelling it was. My emotions went through a whole roller-coaster range of ups and downs before I was done. Intrigue, disgust, arousal, laughter, tears. This installment has it all.

As our story continues with Charlie and new found allies, Drew and his sister Nina, we slide along a daily routine of fitting in, working the tunnels, and maintaining the blood lust .
The bounty hunter, mysterious bad boy Noah ,is working with Charlie as they travel and maintain the tunnels of the weepers( total zombie vibes. )
Charlie and Drew leap into a damned relationship ,sexy as may be, that could very well end her security at the Inn and her image.

I love the whole atmosphere and all the characters in this story. We begin to see Charlie develop and become more confident with her new Halfling self. Of course as soon as shit gets good, something has to go wrong....right.
I cannot wait to continue this story and learn where Charlie is headed next. Noah is such a bad boy i definitely need more on him asap. We end with an unexpected visitor to Charlies door, and lets just say this cannot be good... to be continued... and yes im sooooo hooked give me more asap. book three i need you .

If you haven't read any of these books, you need to read my review of the first one here.

The plot thickens! I don't want to say too much because each of these books are super short, but packs an emotional punch. Let's just say that the love triangle takes a bad turn - leaving Charlie upset and confused. There are still questionable things happening in the royal family that she can't escape either. Poor Charlie is put in the middle of so many complicated scenarios. (I secretly love it!)

Highly recommend this series for all the paranormal lovers!

The plot thickens along with the tension, action, and romance! Things aren't easy for Charlie, but she's a strong heroine and I'm excited to see where the story takes her.
