While I found this sequel interesting, especially with figuring out what was behind the evacuations in the first book, it ultimately didn’t stick with me in the same way, and I think this is in part due to there being so many more POVs in a still very short book. I liked the idea of these young adults being the ones to figure things out and expose the truth, but some aspects of it did seem a bit too far fetched.

Just not motivated to finish. It’s an interesting format, all the poetry and film diaries, news articles.  I’m not terribly interested in the story though and we have so much going on these days it’s hard to squeeze in a read aloud because I feel pressure to finish.

‘Away’ was such a great book that it made this book feel forced rather than a companion. Also, the POV structure made the book feel like four separate stories as opposed to one.
