I’m seeing this play at the globe tomorrow so I wanted to read it beforehand. I like the chaos of it. I thought that was very fun. However, the ending felt very rushed and weird. I feel like they could’ve added more and made it seem more finished.

A bear, a lost daughter and a statue; Oh my!
I read this because I love the out of context, ‘exit, pursued by a bear.’ stage direction that I find so fucking funny that I had to track down which play it was from so I could read it.
I didn't realize that this play would have supernatural elements during the tale, but I'm seeing a pattern in my favorite Shakespearean plays which all have an element or too of the paranormal.
I listened to the LibriVox Community narrated version from @spotify alongside the physical copy I got through my local library.
After I finished the play I watched the adaptation of it on @kanopy and I really enjoyed the movie. I painted my nails during the film, it was a good time!
Antigonus: “well may I get aboard! This is the chase. I am gone forever!” He exists, pursued by a bear. Act 3. Sc.3

Someone in this play dies killed by a bear so I never want to hear people telling me my fear of bears is irrational.

I love Paulina! What a fun and unexpected female character for a Shakespeare play. I also liked the fairy tale overlay of this play, and that helped make up for the quick character changes, jumps in time, and weak character motivations that can certainly be a drawback for some.
