Similarly themed as the first book but a different story line. The book is also a bit racist and unfair to Indians but then these were old times and the opinion in this book was most probably the prevalent one. He did give them some virtues as well, for what it's worth.
Watson love story was very pale and there was so much room for romance - unlike the story of Hurt in the first book.

All in all, this book was as intriguing and fascinating as the first one, if not a little predictable.

Looking forward to the next one!

Unfortunately, this did not age well. The terminology and attitude is incredibly racist, and the mystery is impossible to divine from the information in the text. If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan, you will enjoy it, otherwise skip this one.

The audio was well done.

Note: the handling of Sikh characters from India uses language which is expected of 1890, so go in expecting that

Holmes was just wonderfully pretentious here. Watson also remained quite innocent and this is probably what I'll remember best because the plot didn't stand out in any way. A lot of the characters' views were clearly from the 19th century, but that's how it was supposed to be, so I liked it. Overall, I won't remember anything from this book, but I'm glad I continued reading the series.
