Even tho this book was a classic it was very easy to understand. I really liked guessing the plot and waiting stuff down. Even when I didn’t guess the ending it was still fun to guess allong.
I thought that Hasting was a fun narrator. And I could see him being fun in the future. Poison is not one of my favorite plot lines but it was still enjoyable. I did think that the original ending was more realistic and would’ve liked that one a bit more.

This is the second Agatha Christie book I have read after And Then There Were None, which thoroughly captured my attention and kept me guessing throughout. The Mysterious Affair at Styles, however, never captured my attention in the same way. It was clever enough, but I just didn't find the story to be very interesting. I would put this is the "just okay" category. I am fairly confident that other forays into Poirot stories will yield better returns.

I was less intrigued by this story as some of the others but it still had that Christie magic to it. It being her first published book makes sense. Still enjoyable!

I'm actually glad I read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd before I read this one, because while it was good, it wasn't the masterpiece that Roger Ackroyd is.

What I mostly liked about this was the sense of place and time. It's set in and was written during WWI, and that permeates every aspect of the story in a very visceral way.

As for the actual whodunit, I didn't figure this one out. The poison/chemical stuff is pretty much beyond me, so while I enjoyed it, I didn't get the fun AHA! moment of GETTING IT.
