I really loved the book and I'm looking forward to reading more by Kayla Grosse. As a tall, big woman myself, it was inspiring to read about a plus-sized protagonist.
The only thing that irked me (as a non-native ESL teacher) were some grammar mistakes (to/too, your/you're,...). They were confusing and stopped my reading flow. Other than that, just a lovely read.

I'm usually so engrossed by Kayla Grossecs books but this one just felt too corny and over the top when trying to be mysterious. I still enjoyed both of the main characters, but I wouldn't recommend this out of her other book options.

I’ll never like you like that…

Birdie Wilder was destined for fame- that’s why her mother named her Birdie. When she was 16 she admitted feelings for her best friend, only to be rejected..
Fast forward to present day- She wins a singing competition and becomes a beautiful, plus-size rockstar that so many love. And maybe someone loves her too much.
When a stalker starts sending threatening notes, a body guard is hired. Enter Liam Miller. Ex-cop and ex-best friend to Birdie. When his and Birdies’ best friends, Wren and Ben (yes they have rhyming names), beg Liam to protect Birdie, he does.. Even though they had a bad falling out ten years prior. It was just for the money and his friends, right? And that stalker? How close is he/she willing to get in order to get what they want?

I came across this book while scrolling on Twitter. The post said it was on KindleUnlimited and was about a plus size star. I knew I wanted to read it.
Being plus sized myself- I have found it tough to relate to some main characters. I have started to find love for who I am and my body, so it was refreshing to see a character put down others who felt the need to insult her looks. Someone that loved herself.
I knew I was hooked. I finished the book in one sitting. Spicy scenes and all. It wasn’t your average “romance”. It included twists and turns. Things I never expected. Especially the stalker. It never dawned on who it could actually be.
I do really enjoy dual POV books too! The fact we get to see things in the perspective of the two main characters. Their thoughts, feelings and in between. It gives a bigger picture of what is happening.
5 out of 5 stars!
