Was a nice read, wasn’t to hard to finish. In my opinion, that ‘stalker’ subplot thing was useless. Was basically for pushing the plot along and bringing the lovers together.
So it wasn’t heavily about her fame, it was more focus on the relationship between the two leads. Liam and Birdie, high school best friends. Liam the jock and his chubby best friend, Birdie.
The spice level was mild. Like around a level 2 or 1.

I so wanted to love this book, historically I’ve always loved everything this author has written but this one was a miss for me. (Some spoilers ahead)
In all honestly the pop/rockstar trope is one of my least favourites, I think it’s really hard to do well, so it may be this book just isn’t for me.
I just didn’t feel like the MMC was that down bad for the FMC. It felt all too easy for him to dismiss his feelings and (in the last 10%!!!) walk away from her.
I also didn’t really enjoy the twist of the stalker being her dad, is felt icky because of the nature of the notes she had received, and the explanation to his approach didn’t really fit in my opinion.
I also felt like the sexual tension between the characters made a lot of promises it didn’t deliver on.
For me this is no reflection on the author and since I love her other reads I’ll definitely continue to read everything she puts out, this one just wasn’t for me.

Listen, I tried. But the writing was not good, very tell not show, very juvenile and awkward. And why the fuck did the bodyguard keep leaving her alone??
I didn't like either of the MCs. The chemistry was lacking. I skimmed the last 35%.

This book was a little confusing because at first we were told Liam didn't have those feelings for Birdie and just wanted to be her friend but then later it was kinda like oh well he did like Birdie like that but he just didn't realize what his feelings really were? It was kinda confusing but Birdie and Liam are really cute together and clearly have a lot of chemistry and I love how protective he was of Birdie and how he really had her back.
