Solid read, Birdie and Liam had a long history and lots of shared friends so the fact that she didn't see Liam coming as her bodyguard was the first eye roll.

I was a little foggy on why they 'hated' each other after a misunderstanding in Highschool. I get her wanting to ghost him after he said he would never like her like that. It just seemed extreme.

Nice ex-friends to lovers, the daily grind of tour life was well written.

cute fluffy book.

I Like You Like That by Kayla Grosse was a fun and heartwarming listen! Former friends to lovers is my catnip, add in a bodyguard/client element with a real-bodied, confident FMC and that’s a hell yes from me! Birdie’s heartbreak fueled her pop star career, now will her teenage crush’s return save it? It’s been ten years since high school friends Birdie Wilder and Liam Miller have seen each other. When Birdie is threatened and needs a bodyguard, a mutual friend knows the perfect guy for the job. I loved the dynamic between these two; the pining, brooding, and chirpy banter all worked! Kayla’s genuine rep of real-bodied, curvy women in romance is refreshing. I enjoyed this forced proximity, pop star/bodyguard love story. The third-act breakup threw me off kilter a bit, but overall I was hooked on this story from pressing play to the credits.

Angelina Rocca and Grayson Owens deliver outstanding emotional performances as Birdie and Liam. Angelina’s portrayal of the complex, enthralling, relatable Birdie was fascinating! Grayson’s low timbre and whiskey smooth tone were perfect for his delivery of Liam’s broody and slightly broken character. Angelina and Grayson’s passionate narrations flawlessly ferry this heartfelt and twist-filled rockstar romance off the page. This dual first person POV love story was a delightful listen.

I found myself wanting more from this. I kept thinking the relationship would expand beyond what occurred in the last 100 pages but it just kinda fell flat. There were some super cute moments between Liam & Birdie, but ultimately I just thought I’d get more. This is what I’d consider a “beach read” book.
fast-paced

The best bodyguard romance and I mean that.

What to expect:
- rockstar/ bodyguard
- second chance
- suspense
- pining

This was such a page turner. Kayla’s plots always have me racing through because I NEED to know what’s going to happen on the next page.

Can’t wait to post all my spicy annotations on Booksta 🔥🤭

Plus size singing sensation? I'll take it!

Birdie and Liam used to be best friends. When he shoots her down though, they part ways for a decade. Until Birdie reaches a level of fame that requires her to have constant protection and her new bodyguard turns out to be Liam.

I loved Birdie. She was a fantastic heroine. I had a hard time with Liam to start, but Kayla Grosse brought me around. She always does. Grosse is one of my favorite authors at the moment and definitely an auto-buy for me.

This book really surprised me! I wasn't expecting it be have a unique plot with some unexpected twists! It was a fun take on a Rockstar/bodyguard romance and I enjoyed every minute of it! 4/5

I wanted to like this book so bad. Unfortunately it reminded me of Wattpad books I used to read in middle school.
Our FMC Birdie is fantastic! I loved her so much. She's a baddass rockstar and is literally the sweetest. 🖤🖤 I loved the plus size representation.
Our MMC Liam however....trash. I disliked him so much. I've read the whole thing and I still don't understand how he was ever mad at her? I literally had to reread parts to see if I missed something because from my perspective she acted as any normal person would. AND every bad thing that happens to her, he somehow turns around and makes it all about him.
Is he down bad and thinks she's the most beautiful thing in the world? Yes. I still hated him though. So many things he said are so unbelievably cringey and major red flags. And not hot red flags. But actual red flags. Gross.
The plot is stupid, the "twist" was more stupid and honestly boring. Incredibly unrealistic and very cheesy. Even the "villain" was so stereotypical it was almost unbelievable.
It's a fun read I guess, Liam did make me swoon every time he calls her Birdie girl cuz I'm trash. Overall the characters and the plot both fall flat.
