I loved the Greek myths as a child and devoured Edith Hamilton's Mythology multiple times and have owned 3-4 copies (because if I can buy one for a dollar, why not?).

I liked the graphic novel presentation, I liked the compilation of stories about Artemis in one place, and I liked the author's commentary in the back, particularly about the unsatisfying result of Atalanta's foot race.

I will read more of this series!

Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis is one of the Goddess I want to know more about. I only know very little of this Goddess from the very brief mentioned in Homer's classic The Iliad so this graphic novel was a nice place to start my Mythology collection. I really do like the bondness she has with her mother Leto and her brother Apollo.
I appreciate all the hard work that goes into all graphic novels/comics. I go through them twice and my second time I look at the artwork to get the story through the images. People are so talented.

In comparison to the other's in the series, it's not as strong. It doesn't have an interesting narrative voice like some of the others, however it fits in well with the series. This continues to be one of my favorite (graphic novel) series and I continue to think it's highly underrated!

Finally got my hands on another one of these in the office and it just happened to be my other favorite goddess, along with Athena! I liked the stories in this one a bit better than in Athena's because the stories did all seem to be about Artemis (though there was the aside to Atalanta, it still fit well). In Athena, the story of Perseus derailed things for a while, and we didn't get the all-important story of how Athena got Athens named after her. Artemis seemed much more on-topic.

Anyway, no grand thoughts. I'm still super behind on my reviews and I've got a wedding to plan, people! (But I may just have to buckle down and buy this whole series once the last one publishes...)
