The illustrations really are amazing and I love that we get to see the world of How to Train Your Dragon now in color! Cressida Cowell is such an amazing artist with a really unique style that fits her stories perfectly and this book.

It is not a story but a guide to the different dragons. We can see more about them and get lots more BEAUTIFUL pictures. I would lost by favorite pictures in the book but the list would be too long.

I remember loving this so much as a kid that when my mum bought it as a birthday present for one of my friends I read the whole thing before reluctantly giving it away, and then when that same friend was moving to the other side of the country I asked if I could borrow the book and then I ‘forgot’ to give it back and umm yeah I still have it (that was like nine years ago I swear I’m a better person now)

Fun reference book but recommend you wait to read until you've reached book 10 or 11.

This was delightful. The artwork is fantastic and all the little handwritten notes make it really seem like a notebook.
There's a whole page of poo drawings -it's amazing!

If you like the artwork and the funky species of dragons in the series, you'll love this! Also, Hiccup worked on this while a war was going on. Get your priorities straight, boy!

Being a fan of the movies and dragons in general, I bought this book. While you may only recognize some dragons (and characters) from the movies, you can clearly see what elements Dreamworks used in adapting the original series to the big screen and those were fun to find as I came across them.

I loved the unique artwork and the way that even as an encyclopedia-type book, it also kinda read like a story. It was a quick read (maybe a couple hours) and sometimes it even held my nephew's attention (who only cares about Cars and Little Einsteins).
