It was interesting but the author isn't a scientist from what I can tell so and there wasn't a lot of sources so I didn't trust the info

Such a charming little book!! The chapters felt all over the place, but each one was so fascinating to read. So many wild, interesting and unbelievable facts that I didn’t know about the slow lives of trees. The author is brilliant at describing and personifying nature. This is a wonderful book for any nature lover!

3.5 I like trees! This was a friendly and conversational (and blessedly short) book that still managed to be quite informative. I'd love to think that I'll remember even a fraction of what I learned, but that's not how my brain works. Still, it was fun to read and I know I'll look closer at trees from now on, desperately trying to remember everything I read about how they grow, live, and communicate.

This pairs very very well with Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I learned a lot about trees. It has made me want to go to the forest. Sometimes repetitive.

Informative and well written. Not too dense and told in an accessible and conversational style, although it did get a little repetitive.
I listened to this while also reading The Overstory by Richard Powers which was an interesting combination.
