I was NOT expecting what feels like a glaring allegory for depression nnspoilernnin the first act of this book. it was actually really well done, but was not where I thought this children's prehistoric fantasy novel was going.
I really loved this, which surprises no one. here, paver's aging up of the characters really shines, especially since torak and renn spend more time together. it gives me outcast vibes, with torak's black web. anyway, love it love it love it's heartbroken that I've finished it and now, for the first time since I've been rereading this series, have to weight a whole TEN MONTHS for the next one.
