i really didn't connect to the characters very well i think purely because of the setting and the fact that the entirety of oxford is hostile to someone like me (poor, gay, celtic, jewish). it was still enjoyable and i think it's written well, but i just couldn't vibe with it. i especially didn’t vibe with the way the internal homophobia struggle was handled and how oblivious to real bigotry the characters seemed to be.

This book was so fantastic.
It was advertised as a „sloth burn romance“ because „slow burn“ was too fast.
And it really was a sloth burn.
I knew the characters already a bit, because this is number on in the series and like I sometimes do, I read number two at first and then realize, that I began in the middle of a series.
But, that did not take away anything.
It was a fantastically funny book. I had many great laughs and I will read Part three in the near future

It was okay. Took me a long time to get through it. Not sure why or what was lacking for me. The story was sweet and lovely and British, and overall very well done. I just didn't absolutely love it.
Charlotte felt a little too entitled to Millie's affection, imo. Big "but I'm a nice guy" energy when her friend wasn't into her specifically. I had zero investment in them ending up together after that

Fun premise, first half was enjoyable getting to know the characters but it was just so long and repetitive I almost DNF.
