A very entertaining portrayal of a vampire that grows old like a human, goes to school, falls in love, etc. He just has a psycho vampire and a slayer who happens to be his best friend after him. Very cute. Well done. I thought the plot took a little bit to get into but once you did it was interesting if just a little cliche. Still if you like vampire stories like morgansville and the vampire kisses series you'll like this one too.

I love this series.

Revisiting book two was completely worth it. Vlad will always be one of my favorite characters. Ever since I first met him in a bookstore in Dayton, OH, he's had a special place in my heart.

I admit that I am disappointed that there are currently no more graphic novels based on the books. This one and its predecessor were so awesome that I'd re-read them both a million times if it would make more graphic novels based on the books be released.

5 out of 5 stars!

My favorite book in the series!

Henry, Vlad's best friend's, cousin moves to town. I liked Joss and his relationship with Vlad. Vlad had to hide that he was a vampire from Joss, and I always love the whole secret identity thing.

Vlad also travels to Siberia and meets other vampires. Vikas was a great character! And Vlad gains mind reading abilities! And practices mind control. (Very cool!)

Damn, Vlad is a weepy bastard. I liked the introduction of a Slayer in this one, as well as the very un-subtle references to Buffy. All in all, though, I felt this one had even less plot and action than the first. I'm sure I'll keep reading anyways (especially since I've heard that it all gets a little crazy later on) but this is definitely not the most exciting series I've ever read.

This is much like the first one in both style and feel. The plot has progressed of course and Vladimir has progressed and developed more by the time you reach the end of this book. It has the same light feel to it but there are more serious moments in this one and less jokes tossed around. The commas have calmed down significantly, or at least it didn't bother me as much in this one. And thankfully there were more pages to this one then the last one, but the plot still moves as quickly as before. There is a bit of a problem with me knowing what's going to happen before hand, but I'm having a hard time deciding if it's the lack of originality or me just being too good at guessing. I really like how the vampire government is set up, and it makes it seem like there is a lot of thought behind these rather small books. I can't say I'm terribly attached to the characters, I mean I enjoy Vlad a lot but I'm not hooked on him or the other characters for that matter. I don't feel for them, or at least it hasn't really grown any from the last book.

After the events of Eighth Grade Bites, Vlad is feeling very cautious on who he lets into his life. His uncle is on the run and he wants nothing more than to be with him. But he couldn't possibly worry his aunt and Henry like that. He is even making a new friend is Henry's cousin Joss. He's even worse at video games then himself! But with a vampire hunter in town, and getting caught on camera floating in the air, Vlad is in trouble. So it's decided that he will travel to Siberia with his uncle to train himself to become a better vampire. There  are so many skills he was never taught because he was raised by a human.

This book was full of action and it kept me engaged from beginning to end. I loved the new characters that were introduced. They offered a lot more growth to the story. Especially his new mentor in Siberia, an old acquaintance of Vlad's father and his uncle. Vlad was taught how to use his psychic abilities more thoroughly. After all, every vampire should be able to control the minds of humans. Right?

The only problem I seem to be having with this series is that I find it quite predictable. I know the plot twists before they are revealed. I know who the villains are before they are discovered. I just wish that there was a little bit more mystery than the obvious outcomes. I don't want to be able to know an entire plot before it happens. It makes me feel like the book is way too obvious.

Still, I'm going to continue on with the series, because I did like this one a bit more than the first. So maybe the next one will be even better! It's a solid 3 star series as of now. I am rating this book the same as the first. While I did like this one a bit more, it wasn't enough to change the rating. There were still a few problems I had with it that make my rating stick.
