Pretty Good
Some things got a little repetitive, and it would’ve been nice if she had any backbone at all, but overall pretty good!

new to me author.
I’ve seen this book all over bookstagram and thought I’d give it a try.
I am not 100% sure how I feel about this book. I didn’t hate it but I wasn’t 100% into the story. Maybe it’s my reading slump that I’ve been in all month but I don’t know lol

The Stopover
By T.L. Swan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ok. I needed a break from my ARCs and I grabbed this one on my way out the door to the airport.
I blew through it on my 6+ hour flight.
The spice. Holy moly the spice.
The drama was entertaining. The spice was SO GOOD.
The plot was transparent and it was very obvious there would be a HEA. I took off a star because I don’t like insta-love. But that was easily overlooked by the well done spicy scenes and the crazy girlfriend behavior.
Entertaining… and the best reprieve from all the thrillers I need to get to.

T L Swan is an author whom I’ve been meaning to read for the longest time and one whose works I’ve been recommended on numerous occasions.
With a gift to me for my birthday from my wish list in December, that opportunity finally came my way with The Stopover.
I can see what all the fuss is about.
Not only have I finally ticked an author off my to-read list, but I have also found a new favourite and addiction.
This won’t be my first and last read from her, as I fully plan to grab the rest of the books in the series and one from another of hers, too. I am fully invested in her from here on out.
This year, I have a feeling I’m going to be catching up on many of her previous releases, and it’s all thanks to the impression she, Emily Foster and Jameson Miles have left on me.
Really pleased that this was the book to be the first to make it onto my ’Top Reads of 2025’ list.

Ughh I have such mixed signals on this book! I had seen it all over booksta, it was late and I wanted to read something on my kindle for a bit before going to bed. So I started the book…and next thing you know I’ve finished it at 1:30 in the morning. The one thing I will say about this book is that it was a very enjoyable read, and really got to the chase. There is nothing slow about this burn, and their connection and chemistry is insane. Everyone’s feeling are clear, and though there is a lot of back and forth and banter, they never doubt their feelings for each other.
However, the constant I hate you, I love you, go to dinner with me, leave me alone, I don’t deserve you, I don’t want you, you’re the love of my life…it was a lot. I was getting whiplash for how back and forth their relationship was. Also, I will say that the workplace element of this felt pretty unprofessional, I’m not usually one to say that, I love a good workplace romance, but some scenes really made me uncomfortable, with the power dynamics and the lack of clear consent. Both the characters wanted it yes, but they weren’t being vocal about that, which kind of creeped me out.
I did really like the element of her taking care of him though, it was really sweet, the was that she was healing him in a way, humanizing him, and helping him find balance. Overall, it was a generally enjoyable read that was fast paced, but not the greatest literature written, and some things that made me cringe a bit.

I enjoyed this book and how they met a lot. It was so cute and spicey. I enjoyed watching them each grow together. Defiantly wasn't fond of the female narrator after the event happened and she was fretting the whole time and he was being his closed off non-emotional self. Happy how it ended though.
