This is such an odious, toxic couple and they truly deserve each other. He is the most egotistical asshole who has 0 care for anyone other than himself and she is the most immature, randomly hot headed, ANNOYING FMC who literally can't keep it in her pants.
The first few chapters of the book is actually really cute. The meet-cute, the one night stand, etc but then a year later, she realizes her CEO is the man she had a one night stand with on the first day of her dream job and it goes all to hell. These two cannot stop fighting. He runs hot and cold and she just continues to go after him again and again while spilling her entire dirty secret to her COWORKERS within a week of meeting them. And then it's just him freezing her out or fucking her while she just screams at him for 80% of the book.
And really, why did this book need to be SO DAMN LONG. Why is his ex still in the picture? She had 0 bearing and yet pages are wasted on her showing up to NY and then what? Nothing! What's the point? And in the beginning, WHY is she still with this MAN CHILD when she's literally moved across the country? And this book, like so many other indie books, suffers from the lack of editing. There are so many repetitive sentences... if she described his kisses as perfection suction ONE more time I was going to throw my kindle.
And then the pièce de résistance - he completely shuts her out, breaks up with her, texts her to get over it since he has, has "good bye" stop over sex all night with her, and then the moment HIS name is cleared he demands that she gets back with him. Oh and then, while she's back home for the weekend, he gives her an ultimatum to go back to being "all in" with him or "break up" again. Like WHAT? And of course she just goes for it. He basically apologies and "grovels" for a week and one dinner.
Also, there's no banter, they're just assholes to each other or cheesy. There's no other mode in the dialogues. Waste of time and will not be continuing the series. I've read a few books by this author and I think it's time I gave up. She's just not for me.

Ugh the toxicity in this book was just extreme. It was supposed to be banter maybe?? But was just plain rude and then all forgotten the next scene. I also can’t get over that he seemed nicer to his ex and that whole plot was wild to me

The couple in this books were raging teenagers , They had too many fights too many misunderstandings were mean and rude to each other too many times , too much drama , there was absolutely no romance except for like two chapters it was just a book of them yelling and screaming and being mad at each other without properly communicating or apologising .
The concept of communication does not exist for them they just say a bunch of Rude mean things to each other they hurt each other and then they don't speak for a few days and then they go back to talking without apologizing and it happens again and again and again throughout the book, and that's basically the plot.
Jameson was absolutely insufferable until the last few chapters where he suddenly turned into a golden retriever which is completely unbelievable considering how he was a raging asshole throughout the entire book. his sudden and total and complete character change gave me whiplash, the only time I liked him was the time he was groveling and i don't mean when he kept following her around like a leech that was annoying and basically harrassement i mean when he communicated like an adult and actually expressed emotion and voiced his thoughts, but it did not even seem like it was him it seemed like he was swapped for completely different person
sometimes books are bad but they can still be enjoyable and entertaining despite the lack of literary finesse or good plot or while written characters unfortunately this book was not it was simply a bad book.

Ugh! I'm so conflicted. The whole meet cute and the early chapters of discovery were so so good!!!
Then things started to happen out of nowhere and it felt like a 'and then....' situation. Where one thing happens that you're like "um ok?" and you haven't even fully processed that before another thing that doesnt really vibe with me happens. Sorry, that doesn't really make any sense..... Kinda like this book from 60% onwards. Just felt really rushed for me.
However, the beginning was fab and I totally loved that.
So I'm conflicted. But not conflicted enough to not read the next book lol
