When I was reading this novel I found myself getting somewhat annoyed by the overuse of adjectives. I read somebody else's review who said they found the novel overwritten and I would agree with that wholeheartedly (ha). But yeh, the reason I give this novel 4/5 is because of it's premise. There was one instance of plot dumping near the end, but I didn't care, because the story hit a nerve and really spoke to me.

If you're reading this and finding it a little bit difficult, persevere...the ending will hopefully speak to you to. I'm a man and tears were certainly flowing.

This story made me really happy and I liked it a lot, but at the same time I also didn't. I liked the "perfect world" a lot, and really enjoyed everything about that, and I know it wouldn't have worked without the other world existing, but at the same time, I really could have done without the other world. Which is stupid, since the perfect story only was this good because the other one was there, so I do understand that both needed to be, I just… I didn't care for the imperfect one. Or not really, not in the way it was written.
SpoilerMostly, of course, because none of it was written, so I didn't really feel that connected to it.

The characters were pretty great, I liked how Rachel handled most situations, I liked how the story unfolded and everyone reacted to everything, and I also really liked how the love story went. Especially because of how Rachel was part of it.
SpoilerDidn't really like the fact that she would have cheated, that's a no-go, no matter what, but how she didn't have an immediate breakdown after Matt was pretty great.

I also really didn't like half of the ending, just because I think it could have been cut. It was quite obvious from the rest of the story, what was happening, so I didn't really get any new information from just having that again, and at the same time there was nothing leading up to it.
SpoilerI think there should have been both stories from the start with switching POVs or the end shouldn't have brought it up and the reader should have gotten it just from Rachel’s perspective, which I think would have been possible, since it was also clear before. It felt like the father was only brought in to make sure the reader knew that he was alright with everything, but since we never had his POV on anything before that, it just felt empty to me. Either give me all of it, or make it clear through another "vision" from Rachel, but not have him be there for like three seconds just because.
I feel like that actually took away from everything else happening/made the ending feel a little "smaller", because there was suddenly a lot more stuff going on. That being said, I did like the ending of the story. Not the way it was written, not the stuff that could have been cut, but I really liked how the story came to a conclusion, and I was really happy with that one.
SpoilerOh, also: could have done without the "alternative Rachel POV" in the beginning, so that we could have been on the same level as Rachel in terms of knowing what was going on, I think that could have been pretty great, to just know exactly what people told her, especially since those chapters actually didn't come up again later? Or not really in any way that made it important to know more stuff.

So I had some problems (or not problems, more things I didn't like that much) with the story, but mostly it was just really amazing and I really liked the romance. At (some) points a little annoying with the jealousy, but most of the time just really great and it felt like an actual romance and not forced at all, and that was just really good. Liked it a lot!

a cute and fluffy read with a kind of "sliding doors" feel to it.
some loveable characters, and some to loathe too.
for me it felt like the perfect chick-lit... sweet, interesting and a couple of tear jerking moments. I just wish the ending had lasted a bit longer....

What a beautiful, tragic story about alternate realities. The timelines, or rather, realities were woven together so elegantly. What could have been gossamers were fabricated into prose that would tug at your heartstrings. Rachel Wiltshire wakes up from a coma to find her life far different from the reality she knows, and the person who loves her, who was lost forever, was alive. This is when Rachel learns the truth, to see things from another perspective and to be appreciative of her own life. Heartbreaking, but the conclusion is breathtaking in its own element.
