I didn’t love it. I did finish it though. I thought the descriptions of the cooking and tennis were super borrrrring. There was so much going on in the book but it wasn’t really developed well. It definitely didn’t read like a romance to me. And Jason should have stayed in the first chapter and never made another appearance. His random cameos did absolutely nothing for the story.

More of a 3.5. The story was cute, and I am all about the journey of self-discovery. It was a little hard for me to consume a character who looks like me who disliked so much about herself for too long.

"In her heart of hearts, nothing was more important than finding peace. Her heart wanted her to be at peace with herself. At peace with accepting herself, for better or worse. At peace with owning exactly who she was in the present moment."

Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell is such a feel-good read! This book follows Savannah Joy Sheldon, who is plus-sized, a workaholic and amazing in the kitchen, as she goes through a break-up after her no-good boyfriend breaks up with her after 6 years and as she works to impress her boss so she can get a promotion. Savvy was raised by a mother who struggled to feed her and her two brothers, so now, especially with the encouragement of her mother, she works twice as hard as everyone else on her team. I thought that the company Savvy worked for worked her too hard, and Savvy realizes that, too, and begins to think about what she really wants to do in her career. Not only that, but Savvy gets a whole-life makeover. She does that by doing things that make her feel good: changing her appearance, eating better, cooking amazing meals, exercising, making a career out of what she actually wants to do in life, and hanging out with people who love her and support her exactly as she is. At times I thought that Savvy's fascination with working out was all that she could do after being told by her ex that she had "let herself go". But the author tackles that issue well, and Savvy's friends tell her that she needs to work on herself for her own wellbeing and not for anyone else. On her road to reinvention, Savvy meets Spencer, who has wanted Savvy way before she starts to reinvent herself. The picture of him on the cover correctly displays how smitten he is with Savvy every time he sees her. What's hilarious is that Savvy thinks Spencer is homeless the first time she sees him, but she learns that he is hardworking, loving, dedicated, and not homeless. Spencer is sweet and only wants the best for Savvy, unlike her ex-boyfriend. Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell was a heart-warming, inspiring, and funny debut!

*This book features trigger warnings of fat-shaming/fatphobia, diet culture, overworking, and toxic relationships/breakups.

I wanted to like this book, but I couldn't finish. Savvy's obsession with becoming better and losing weight as a form of revenge from an abusive ex boyfriend actually made me uncomfortable. I'm sure at the end of the book she learns to l9ve herself and realizes the ex was an asshole but the constant weight talk was too much for me, especially as it's interspersed with pretty detailed descriptions of delicious foods. It's jarring and nothing about Savvy as a character made it enough for me to want to finish

I loved this book! Savvy and Spencer (swoon), her friends and family, the sweetest dog, and the story itself! All are brilliant! I need more from this author now!

Incompatibility issues. Six years. Yet Jason tells Savvy Sheldon that their relationship is over. In truth, he is not pleased with her appearance and tells her that he needs to start looking for an upgrade.

Well, Savvy is going to start over herself. Project Upgrade. 1. Revenge body. 2. New look - hair, clothes. 3. Meal Prep. 4. Find balance.

Yes, Savvy is going to change her appeararance. Yoga and tennis, here she comes. Better food choices and meal planning. Check. Ditch the glasses. Get Contacts. Check. Cut her luscious hair. Done.

While Savvy is making all of these changes with regard to her appearance - after all, she wants to be appealing to the opposite sex - she has another project. She needs to have her grandmother's kitchen renovated. She cannot help but ogle her contractor. More than that, he treats her with the utmost respect. But, he goes further than that. He finds Savvy just gorgeous and doesn't hesitate to tell her that.

But, is Savvy ready to trust another man, especially when she finds herself running into Jason one too many times, with his upgrades?

What a great story! I loved Savvy and I also loved Spencer, a man who ended up being much more than Savvy's contractor. Factor in a lot of tennis, a lot of cooking, and Savvy fighting the insecurities she had with her appearance, and Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell left me with a feel-good feeling.

Honestly, I wasn’t keen on reading this book given I wasn’t a fan of an earlier novel. But this was lovely.

Savvy is dumped and then sets out to upgrade her life. What starts out as mostly dieting ends in her rediscovering her love for herself.

The book is heavy on diet culture and a little bit of negative food language. But I enjoyed Savvy’s development and how she advocated for herself.

amazing body positive, fun, empowering novel about a plus size woman who learns to love herself

Ugh. I wanted to LOVE this book. A plus sized woman feeling good about herself?! Yes, please! However, there were some big issues for me - Savvy is dumped by a man because he thinks she's "let herself go" and she immediately turns around and tries to attain the perfect "revenge body"; she thinks this other guy is homeless but no wait, he's a contractor and he's hot so she hires him to renovate her house AND she starts a relationship with him super close to being surprised by her breakup; there are WAY too many tennis scenes; what exactly is Savvy's job and why does she spend all of her life there?

It was not a terrible read, but it could have been better.
