Oh my god was this book surprisingly emotional! I really enjoyed reading on Savvy’s journey to self love and confidence. Everyone in her life (outside of Jason but he is a mere footnote) was so supportive of Savvy and never let her bring herself down, that shit was the best aspect of this book! Joanie and Maggie supported her and participated with her when she needed that boost reminding her she was perfect as is but also knowing she wanted to do this revenge body journey and thus went along with her, they never let her doubt herself but were also firm when she needed them to be!!

It wasn’t just Savvy’s friends but the mmc Spencer was just as supportive and enamoured with Savvy. From when we met him her never once made her feel lesser than, for context her trash boyfriend dumped her because she “let herself go” and whilst Savvy was on this revenge body journey Spencer never belittled her for it nor for her body, boy loved her in every way😌

Also whilst the “revenge body” felt a bit ‘umm ok🤨’ at first, it definitely felt like Savvy quickly let go of the need to get back at Jason and actually just enjoyed her herself trying new things and rediscovering her love for Tennis and sport, no extreme methods at all.

This was a cute read overall. It gave me cozy with the food aspect included. The author did a good job of making you dislike a certain male character, I will say that lol. Along with the food descriptors, I enjoyed the dog love and friendship among the ladies. It felt like more than just a romance, which I appreciate. The story also incorporated Savvy's work life and family. There were a few sex scenes, just a heads up. I am looking forward to reading more from Taj McCoy.

I typically don’t like a “fat” main character whose arc includes finding happiness in exercise and watching what they eat but this book wasn’t that bad. As a plus size person myself, I look for books where the fat main character just tackles life and weight never even crosses their mind, it’s just a fact of the matter of who they are. There were some of those redeemable moments here in this book. I think this book is more of the character falling in love with who she is and that was nice to see. I like Savvy and I want her to find all the happiness she deserves.
