I started this book with zero knowledge about this rescue other than all 13 were saved. I can’t believe how much I learned and the different emotions I felt while reading. An excellent book that everyone should read.

Very well-written and interesting to read, but not so compelling that I couldn't put it down. I also skipped over all of the supplementary info sandwiched into each chapter because it pulled me out of the narrative.

Fantastic read! Loved the use of pictures, diagrams and present tense to keep you in the moment. Intense and thrilling but I was never too worried since I followed the original story in the news and knew the "ending"

An amazing and inspiring story that kept me on the edge of my seat even though I knew the outcome! I loved reading about the teamwork, comradery, and ingenuity as people from all over the world came together to solve this seemingly impossible problem.

I was really interested to read this because I'd read another middle-grade book about this same topic, and I wanted to see how they compared. This is the FAR superior book, written with heart and humor and humility. The importance of having someone writing on this topic who understands the area and its people can't be understated. Even when you know ahead of time what the outcome of the story is, you find yourself hurriedly reading with bated breath hoping to find out what happens.

I remember hearing about the rescue of the soccer team in Thailand in 2018, but I had no idea how involved this rescue mission was. This book may have been aimed at middle grade students, but it was definitely a page-turner, even for adults or for those who know how the story will end. I love how the book focused on what the boys were dealing with inside the cave as well as what the volunteers from around the world were dealing with outside the cave. The book was so well written that I would almost forget that it was nonfiction until I saw the pictures and diagrams that were scattered throughout. I will be adding this wonderful book to my school library and I cannot wait to share it with others. All Thirteen is now one of my top 5 middle grade favorites for 2020.
