Sehr spannend. Man hat den Eindruck selber ein Teil der Natur zu sein. So schön und detailliert wird alles festgehalten. Man spürt den Wind, das Rascheln der Blätter. Sieht die Feder vor sich. Kya ist selber ein Teil der Natur, als wäre sie wild vom Winde geformt. Klasse. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

this books was actually really good. throughout this book, nature has been mentioned a lot of times and how the protagonist connects with nature and also learns new things and experiences stuff all by herself. one of the best things is about how the plot goes back and forth but still makes you wanna read more and more. it's the smoothness in the plot that i also like. kya is a type of character from whom you can learn something at the end of the book, and you can actually reflect back on how her character developed.i would recommend this book to anyone, it's worth the money

The writing is so beautiful, and the descriptions were really stunning... But I found it a bit excessive.
I also could not connect to the third person narrative.
Reading this book was exhausting..and for 2/3 of the book, it's really uneventful, except for her relationship with Tate which is really sweet.

Without doubt the most Heartbreakingly beautiful book I have read. I loved every minute of this book and have reread it and listened to it a few times. Owens description of the surrounding Marsh and the nature draws you in alongside Kya’s journey a character you love from the start.
I read 39 books in 2020 and this was my 'Book of the Year'.

- The imagery of the flora and fauna of the marsh – made this book extremely visual
- I was hooked from the very first chapter
- The twists and turns
- The ending – I did not pick it
- The fact that it is being made into a book is awesome!

Förstår inte alls storheten med denna bok. Vet inte om den försöker vara feelgood där en person som på något mirakulöst sätt lyckas trots inga förutsättningar alls, eller någon form av Agatha Christie-aktig deckare med en mordgåta som läsaren ska lista ut med alldeles för lite information. Får en stjärna extra för att jag åtminstone stundvis inte var säker på hur det låg till :P
Kya lebt mit ihrer Familie im Marschgebiet, abseits der Zivilisation. Der gewalttätige Vater vertreibt zunächst Kyas Mutter, später auch ihre Geschwister. Als der Vater eines Tages selbst nicht mehr nach Hause zurückkehrt, bleibt die kleine Kya alleine zurück und muss schon früh lernen, selbst über die Runden zu kommen. Dies tut sie auch relativ erfolgreich - bis ein Mord das nahegelegene Städtchen Barkley Cove erschüttert. Die Bewohner sind sich einig: Schuld ist das "Marschmädchen".

Die Zoologin Delia Owens hätte kaum ein zu ihrem Beruf passenderes Buch schreiben können. Mit vielen wunderschönen Naturbeschreibungen erzählt sie von einem Mädchen, das in Einklang mit der Natur lebt. Das bedeutet natürlich auch, dass es sich um eine relativ langsame Lektüre handelt, keineswegs aber um eine langweilige. Mich hat die wunderschöne Atmosphäre, welche die Autorin kreiert, sofort in ihren Bann gezogen. Ich habe das Buch sehr, sehr gerne gelesen, lediglich das ausführliche und doch nur wenige Seiten umfassende Ende traf meinem Geschmack nicht wirklich. Ich bevorzuge offene Enden. Dennoch würde ich den "Gesang der Flusskrebse" wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Das Lesen lohnt sich übrigens auch, wenn einen die Verfilmung nicht überzeugen konnte! Diese kann meiner Meinung nach leider nicht mit dem Buch mithalten.
