Like most people who’ve read this book I will never forget it, I will think of Betty and her family as often as I would a friend, I’m not usually the type to read long books but something about this one made me keep wanting to come back to it so much so that I overcame my car sickness to fit just a few more pages in. The writing was incredible and knowing it was based on the authors mother’s life made me want to hug her again and again. I am so grateful to have read this book and will now be forcing everyone I know to read it too. 5 ⭐️

I would give 6 stars if I could. This is truly a masterpiece of a novel. I don't give 5 star ratings often (this is my second one this year), but this book was so moving and heart wrenching it deserved nothing less. My soul has been stomped on and my heart has been crushed.
