I stayed up late to finish this, lemme tell you - it was WORTH IT.
So, now that I am perfectly sane to write this, I will.

I can definitely see how fans of Jennifer A. Nielsen were not as happy with this trilogy as her last trilogy. I did see the repetitiveness. As in when everyone kept kidnapping someone to make Nic do something for them. I saw that, but I also saw that it was necessary. All those who have not yet read the third book, should - you will understand a lot more once you do. Besides the whole journey is worth it.

3.5 stars again because AGGGHHHHHH this book probably could've been shorter. All that happened was Nic running away, everyone screaming in the aftermath, and then Brutus trying to kill him again. Rinse and repeat. So...not my favorite of the series and not the strongest series conclusion. But it's still Nielsen and I still adore her and just YEP.

A great conclusion to this series that I've found myself drawn into.

In this conclusion, Nic meets his fate, and it drew up interesting questions about fate and purpose. Overall, Jennifer continues her great work of world-building and drawing you into the story ends with this book in a surprising conclusion. I hope to see more of Nic in the future.
