I enjoyed the premise of the book and I like the characters. But it was painfully slow. It felt like the series is being set up to be unnecessarily long. So much repetitive internal monologue. I am going to read the next book in the hopes that’s things start happening because there was great world building and well done characters so there’s a lot of potential.

This was a reread for me and I am glad I decided to reread it. I wanted to refresh my memory of the events of the first 2 books so that I may read the third in preparation for book 4 coming in September. I absolutely loved the setting of this story. I also adored the characters and the romantic tension. There were plenty of little twists and turns to keep me on my toes so even though this was a refresher, it was just as excellent as the initial read through.
