Man, y'all are really dedicated to tugging on my heartstrings every time, aren't you?  At least this one ended on a happier note compared to Volume 7.  Once again, I'm entranced by the gorgeous artwork of this series.  First of all, I would like for zebra horses to exist in real life.  Second, Alana, who has always been a badass, practically radiates that energy in every panel.  And lastly, I loved both the idea and illustration of a particular creature towards the end of the volume - it's such a delightful idea, and I hope we get to see more of them in later issues.  Looking forward to Volume 9 - 4 stars.

Be mindful of the content warnings for this volume.

I really liked the honest and open discussions in this one. It had a very different feel and much less conflict than all previous volumes.

I'm not sure where The Wills storyline is going, but it isn't my favourite part. Definitely prefer to follow Hazel and her family.

Another great, but different, addition to the series.

Interesting and different direction for this volume. The sadness was offset by a lot of deep and touching revelations about life and love, but there were also a handful of characters I just didn't care about (the three cowboys in the desert) and I was happy when they were moved aside to focus on our main cast again. It was sweet and touching to see Hazel actually interact with kids her age as well.

Like I said before, this volume is definitely more emotionally driven than previous volumes. There aren't as many action sequences. But there are some great discussions about abortion, body control, attraction, etc. So much great content in here!

Re-read in preparation for Saga Vol. 10
Ok this one hurt. Seeing Kurti and Hazel get to be siblings and Alana and Marco having to watch that knowing it has to end HURTS. But it was a really good volume, the addition of Ianthe really ramps up the sense of dread.
