This was a rollercoaster!
At first, it was a little frustrating trying to tell apart all the new names, the new lingo, and what was happening in general.
Once things became clearer, the plot was quite interesting, but unfortunately I was not the correct audience for this kind of relationship. Everything from therather graphic "forcing" of FMC to partake in her rape, as well as the violence of him beating her with a leather strap and getting turned on by it was too much for me.

A quick enemies-to-lovers read in sci-fi romance! I like how Eris Adderly's female leads (FL) always have a sassy internal commentary even if they know better than to say all of it out loud. It was fun seeing the back-and-forth between the soldier FL and her minister/scholar ML (male lead), and Adderly definitely delivers on the steam. Really enjoyed the smack talk from the ML too, and it's all the more entertaining because he's the reserved scholar type. The way they bring out expected sides to each other was just *chef's kiss*. The ending was a little rushed, but everything still ties up neatly for the happily ever after. Would recommend, but check the content warnings because the premise is dubcon.
