Every book I’ve read by Nicola Yoon so far has utterly wrecked me. Thank you for reminding me why we choose to love others. To forgive others. To love ourselves. To forgive ourselves. Reading this book was the perfect example of perfect book, perfect time. Excellent, as always.

Nicola Yoon & narrator Bahni Turpin is a match made in heaven!
I keep saying I don’t like romance, but then I enjoy YA romance. I think it’s because (in my limited experience with romance) adult romances are more about these epic forever loves (which I don’t believe) or way too open door horny (which I’m not into). YA romance doesn’t pretend to be “forever love” and if there’s sex, it’s sweet and awkward and new. It’s more about coming of age than falling in love.
I absolutely loved the message of this one. That a love doesn’t need to be forever to have been love. It’s worthy. It’s worth it to fall in love, even if it doesn’t last for whatever reason. It’s worthy to spend the time connecting. I tell people this all the time, a relationship isn’t a waste of time just because it doesn’t last.
Read the authors note at the end. It made me think about the book in a whole new, bigger way.
