I adore these two characters but Moon Girl gets too stuck in her head. This story feels so wacky and Lunella’s intelligence doesn’t shine through when she is desperate for a moment to think and when she makes wild guesses for where (and when) her Moon Mobile will land. There is a lot of zipping around the galaxy and dimensions but almost no character growth.

I have mixed feelings about this volume because I really love these characters, but I wasn't a fan of this story arc. Her decision at the end of the volume (the last two issues) came out of nowhere, and it didn't make sense to me. The main story line for this volume also felt like it took too long to wrap-up, it definitely could have been told in fewer issues.

I have higher hopes for the next story arc because I think it's pretty likely there will be a happy reunion.

Moon Girl goes to...the moon! Or rather, a very specific moon that has...called out to her for help? In order that her extended absence does not alarm her parents or teachers, Lunella takes a page out of Dr. Doom's playbook and creates 10 Moonbots that are being overseen by a captured Doombot head, of all things.

Using the last of the fuel in the alien tech that first brought Devil Dino to her, Lunella makes the shocking decision to take Devil Dinosaur back to his own time, leaving her without a companion or teammate.

Honestly, this may be slightly lower than a three, considering I started the last issue and was so irritated I skimmed it and then considered it read. Lunella has been learning that friends are important and that being around others isn’t so bad, and then this volume goes completely against that. Lunella is in space for a lot of it (how did she get all the materials for her space ship, space suits for herself and Devil Dinosaur, and all the Lunella robots?) (sometimes I feel for her parents), and there seems to be earth gravity on the moon which really annoyed me, and I am just not interested in Ego.

This just felt so completely different than the first three that I was convinced it was a dream.
