I think this one is my favourite so far!

Strange how it took me 2 books to get into this series enough to give the tv show another go. Then I binged that like CRAZY and now I'm back to finish the books. Having seen the tv series I knew a lot of things already but (of course) the book is better and so much more detailed. Can't wait to continue the series (both book and the new season of the tv show)

I’ve seen lots of criticisms in other reviews about the length of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. Thus far, I will admit that they are long. However, as a writer who also struggles with brevity, I completely understand. The way in which Gabaldon writes, so richly descriptive, demands length. I find myself absolutely hooked on the story of Jamie and Claire’s love. I simply cannot get enough of the two characters, although I’m not sure how I feel about their departure from the Highlands, which were such an important part of the first two books and Jamie’s overall identity.

I admit that after the disappointment from the second book of the series, I wasn’t sure I would read any of the others. But (as evidenced here) I couldn’t stay away and read the third installment. I have to say I’m really glad I did. This book brought back all the emotions and excitement I got from reading “Outlander”. I’m excited to continue the series.
