A little predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I thought there might have been a connection between the case and the main characters life, but there wasn't really, just similarities I suppose. It would have felt more clever I think. 

Some of the scenes dragged on a bit.

Hated it, and I don't usually use such strong descriptors. I thought it was unnecessarily graphic and gratuitous. Some great, really interesting scenes to do with her job and the intricacies of a breaking down marriage but not good enough to redeem the book for me. Horrible, awful characters and the whole thing was just packed to the brim with tropes. Not my jam at all.
