Loved the art in this, the colouring in particular was as fantastic as you'd expect from Mignola. However, I wasn't really taken with the actual story or characters. The characters were shallow stereotypes, and the story is more set up for the world rather than having any actual plot. I'll probably pick up the next volume, but this was nothing really to get excited about.

Good
Although it left me feeling less than satisfied. It’s more of an appetizer than full meal.
But I definitely want read more of Lord Baltimore’s story.

Forgettable, compared to other projects Mignola's been attached to. Not a bad book by any means, but there are better ones.

I'm always skeptical about stories involving zombies. So I approached this with caution but found it to be better than I expected. I loved the art and the use of the muted colors and vibrant red. Baltimore proved to be more compelling than I expected and I'm ready to read more.

What I thought this was-- a historical graphic novel about Plague Ships in Baltimore, a topic I had never heard of, but doesn't it sound interesting.

What this book really was -- set after World war I this graphic novel about Vampires/zombies overrunning the world. And haunting one man and his life.

Very different and interesting, I don't know if I would pay full price for this but I am interesting in getting more of this story from the library. For middle school on up who like zombies and vampires, fans of the walking dead perhaps?
