I got lost on the first few chapters but decided to give it a chance and it was totally worth it! I got hooked. This, by far, is my top pick for Stephenie's works. :)

Stephanie Meyer makes sure her characters are as well rounded and interesting as her incredible story and action sequences. Wonderful book!
Did not finish. Maybe it was the audiobook voice, or maybe it was just the writing. I feel the author went out on a limb to try a new genre, when she should stick with her usual. The Host was awesome, Twilight series--well, speaks for itself. This was not good.

Finally got to read this one & LOVED it! It was action-packed from the beginning & you always gotta love a strong female lead!
The problem with this book as well as all other books by this author is the self-depreciation of the main character. It's exhausting. I didn't even look at the author when bought it on audible, I was skimming from the blurbs. About a third of the way in the writing felt familiar and I realized it was the twilight author.
I don't mind the writing about the dogs, food, and gums as others have complained, the attitude of the main character is so unrealistic and inhuman that you cannot suspend your disbelief to enjoy the story.
This author has some problem with writing about and talking about sex. It's clearly evident in all her books.

I really wanted to like this book and I knew going in that there was going to be romance (because it's Stephenie Meyer so what do you expect??) but the romance just distracted me from the interesting parts of the book.
First off, I shall rant about the romance. There is no romantic tension whatsoever. Daniel likes "Alex/Ollie/WTF who cares?" and she feels some weird feelings for him, that she can't identify as attraction for like a million years because she's clueless at people. They basically fall for each other right away and there's no question as to whether they will continue to be together. Then on top of all that, she just freakin tortured the dude so no. In real life after someone tortured you, and I don't care how attracted you were to them initially, you are not going to be standing up for them, trying to protect them, kissing them, or in any way shape or form going to stay anywhere near them. No, that is not how life works. That is not even how romance novels work. I mean, come on!
Ok, now that I got that off my chest. The spy aspects of this book are interesting. Ollie is in hiding, and doing a pretty decent job of it until she isn't.... The other characters are also sorta on the run and so they all team up and fight the bad guys (or try to). There's a little bit of suspense, a little bit of action, and at some points you won't really be able to set the book down. I liked that Alex/Ollie/ol' whats er name was getting information about hiding/running from spy thrillers, that made me giggle, and I found it believable. I also liked reading about the traps she was setting and what they were doing to get the bad guys (there are a lot of plans/fights in this book).
In the end though, I didn't really like it that much. I wanted more chemistry information (she really was vague about what she was doing and just generally set the same chemical traps over and over, but hey, whatever works) but I was curious as to more details (I am a scientist after all....) and I could have used more suspense. Otherwise, the writing was solid Stephenie Meyer (don't expect anything too fancy) and the storyline was decent. If you've got a lot of time to kill then give this book a shot but otherwise I would stay away...

This book is readable. Easy but long and winding. Stephanie Meyer can not for the life of her, write a male character. I skipped many monologues and was better off from it. As I said, easy read nothing too deep or meaningful a tween read.
