So much with so little. The message shared was clear and meaningful while only using a couple words.

This book is an amazing collection of captivating poems that speak true to the tragedies and numerous misfortunes of a population that is often silenced. I highly recommend this book for those in middle and highschool, especially to those that may not be the best readers.

Wow that last line gave me chills!
What an important read about the cycle of gun violence and what it does to people and generations. I thought this was a very interesting concept and I liked how it was told in verse. I listened to the audio book and I highly recommend that because Jason Reynolds(the author) narrates it.

This book is written verse. I don't know what I was expecting, but this was EXCEPTIONAL. This book is unexpected,  moving, and beautiful. I will be thinking about it and processing it for a long time. It is one of those books I will cherish for it's uniqueness and prose.

PLEASE READ THIS BOOK.

I love the overall concept that each person who enters the elevator in-explicitly teaches Will a lesson. I also loved the imagery of the smoke and the themes of the nighttime from his mother and Will and Shawn as little kids. I also loved the parallel of mickey and mark as a cautionary tale for will.
