I listened to this audiobook. Some parts of this book were really interesting -- I enjoyed learning about the drive and determination it took him to get into the broadcast sports field, and the OK chapter was an interesting view of those events. Mostly though the level of detail was a little too inside baseball and the stories were of the cocktail party variety. Al Michaels has lead an remarkable life and I'm glad he never got jaded. Good guy, alright book.
I am a huge sports fan and absolutely loved this book. Having listened to Al Michaels for years, I heard his voice while reading the book and truly felt like he was telling the story. The book tells the story of an amazing career and I so enjoyed relieving some special sports memories as he gave background stories around the people and events. If you grew up a sports fan like I did, this is a must read.
I didn't really have any expectations for this book going in, and boy was I surprised! I really enjoyed all of the stories and behind the scenes information form Al. I love football and listen to Al during regular sportscasts. I didn't know that he called the Miracle on Ice and hearing him describe it is very exciting! He also gets into his relationship with O.J. Simpson, covering many Olympic games, and much more! As a Packer fan I enjoyed hearing about Brett Favre and his shocking game the day after his father passes away. All in all, this is a great and insightful read!
Fun to read. Lots of memories, sports stories and broadcasting stuff. A-

Extremely enjoyable if you’re a sports fan, even more enjoyable if you work in television like I do. Would highly recommend the audiobook — the narrator nails the reading and the chapters that Al Michaels reads fill you up with all the warm nostalgic feelings that stir up the dramatic emotions that sports can often deliver.

I listened to the audio of this book, and though I wish Mr. Michaels had read more of the book, I loved this! I feel like he's been a part of my entire upbringing, and this story was so engaging. Thanks for sharing, Al!
Great insight into sports broadcasting industry and amazing to see where his career took him. Very enjoyable, quick read.
If you are an American sports fan, Al Michaels may have announced your favorite sports memory or ran to your favorite athlete. Golf, horse racing, baseball, Olympics, American football, basketball, and the bunches of sports featured on Wide World of Sports....he touched all of them.
He's a better announcer than writer but I can't really find any fault in writing. Sounding like a little boy, his love and enthusiasm for sports, for life, comes shining through the words He comes across a little dazed at the serendipitous path in his broadcasting life.

You know that feeling when you've been craving a specific food place for a while and you finally get it? That was this book for me, it was a light read with terrific stories from all different aspects of professional sports. It was exactly the kind of read I have been looking for.
I will have this book done about 15 minutes into my commute home today. I was in search of an Audiobook to listen to. Had always like Al Michaels. This book did not do anything but make me like him more. He has been around forever and seen so many things. This book tells the stories.
