I used to love Bartimaeus growing up and I'm happy to come back to these stories now. He really is the biggest brat, haha
This was a hard book to get into... the plot and story are lacking but Bartimaeus is just so charming a character I couldn't help but enjoy myself while listening to the audiobook. Sometimes I felt the Nathaniel chapters were redundant but I can understand why they were included (he got less annoying overtime). I also found the women characters very one note (mrs. Underwood and Mrs. Lutchins you deserved so much more personality than supportive woman in Nathaniels life) The world building is cool also and I can't wait to learn more about how the governement operates and especially what's going on with the resistance...

I definitely read this book when I was younger but I think I liked it more this time around. It was dark and grim but also funny, looking forward to re-reading the rest of the series.
