i didnt really find it likeable because i read it in english, i speak swedish so i probably could have read it in swedish and liked it more. it was a little boring.

My son (9 yrs) read the whole book and quite liked it. My daughter (7 yrs) read the first part of the book, liked it but didn't really want to read the whole thing. I had picked it up for the same reason as Michelle BF, I thought the kids might like a modernized version (pictures). My husband has mentioned Pippi Longstocking a few times as something he liked as a child.

This was a fun book to read with Audrey. She got a big kick out of all of Pippi's over-the-top antics.

Pippi was my hero! Living alone with a horse and a monkey (Mr. Nelson), sleeping upside down in her bed, drinking coffee, not going to school, and strong enough to take care of bad guys! Talk about living the good life! One of my very favorite books as a child.

I remember being obsessed with this book in middle school and checked it out every chance I got. I love Pippi and her freedom and bravery to be herself.
