As insightful as DuBois is, his writing is so beautiful and original. Probably my favorite of his collections, creative and evergreen in equal parts

Exquisite writing from the beginning to the end. Provides a beautiful and critical account of racial injustice through the lenses of history, government, education, and religion. The essay "The Immortal Child" in particular is poignant discussion of the failure of public education that is disturbing still true 100 years after its publishing.
