This would merit 4 or even 5 stars if more actually happened. Many of my favorite movies are those which can be performed as a 2 person play on a stage with minimal set changes. Jim Starlin seems keen on this type of storytelling, as he's written and drawn this book to mostly be a walking dialogue between Thanos and Adam Warlock and a few personified cosmic concepts.
Thanos has, for me, always just loomed as this huge, powerful Baddie that I didn't understand. The more I get to see what his intentions and powers and philosophies actually are, the more he ascends to being a complex and fascinating antagonist rather than a mindless, brutish warmonger.

These OGN that Marvel has been putting out are great and remind me of my early comic book experiences in the 80's. This one is given the room to grow with bright expansive panels and gorgeous art work.

This one isn't about action. This one is a thinker. Read it knowing that and you might enjoy it more.

As far as I can tell, this entire book happened to either engage in some subtle retconning, or to set up some future series. A little Thanos goes a long way, so I guess this was written for his big fans. Lucky them!

This is a weird one to review. I love Starlin's crazy cosmic Thanos nonsense - which, looking at other reviews, might make me weird - but even for him this one's pretty wonky. It starts off pretty slow, with Thanos investigating a vague feeling that something's not right, and ends in an incredibly confusing extra-dimensional climax that ends with both you and the characters wondering what the hell just happened.
The art's fantastic, the characters are as good as they've ever been, the plot's trippy as all hell and the implications are somewhere between utterly pointless and totally cataclysmic. I'd say it's worth a read.
