I was a little disappointed in the ending. I didn't feel like the villain really got what he deserved. But overall, I enjoyed the story. I thought the two separate lines were woven together really well.

This was a well crafted family drama that I ultimately didn’t really enjoy reading that much. I vacillated between being bored of the endless food descriptions and frustrated… no furious with the state of the world. As a mother of two daughters, reading this book set in the height of the #metoo movement, jumping timelines and following the fall out of Diana’s rape was too much.

The book was interesting and a bit predictable at times. I give it a 4/5 due to the misleading nature of the preview. The preview is presented as “fun” and “funny”, there is nothing fun about rape and marital abuse . Overall, I did enjoy the different mother/daughter relationships and the importance of friendship.
