I had to let this story grow on me, but I'm glad I did. Some of the characters seemed so unlikeable and unrelatable that I really wasn't sure it was the right book for me at first. That said, the themes of female friendship/women's loyalty to each other, multi-faceted female protagonists, and healing & growing after a traumatic event are firmly in my wheelhouse. I think Jennifer Weiner might be a new favorite author for me. I would recommend this book and, in fact, already have!

There are a lot of ways men take from women, and this book is about a few of them. It's one of those books where I want to give the characters a hug at the end—I feel like we went through something together, and I feel like we're headed somewhere better.
