I loved this book. Gilbert immersed readers in a world with characters who will often leave us appalled and delighted. I loved the insights into the life of a showgirl, the resiliency of several women after things just don’t go well, and the nuanced ways to love. Truly a delightful read.

I went into this book with no expectations and was blown away. I loved Vivian even when she was annoying and naive, because she grew into an amazing woman with heartfelt stories.

Could’ve been told in half the pages. First 100-ish pages should’ve been a prologue. But I kept reading because of the delicious writing and characters. 2.5 stars.

Not many books have the ability to make you feel almost every kind of emotion known and experienced by mankind. But Elizabeth Gilbert managed to do just that with this book. I fell in love with this book, and i lived vicariously through Vivian Morris.
