Through each poem on this collection I could sense the poet, the great Maya Angelou, is blessed with such profound wisdom and perspective. My favorite pieces would be the theme of womanhood, feminist liberation, and embracing of life. One piece entitled “Seven Women's Blessed Assurance” was certainly a refreshing tone, amidst ageism that plays more heavily among women.
