Oh but this was just delectable. Love & Other Disasters is such a cute but spicy queer (f/nb) romance between two competitors on America's favourite cooking show... now, that's a recipe for success, if you ask me.
Both Dahlia and London stole my heart the moment I met them, and I loved the sizzling tension and chemistry between them. The side characters maybe fell a bit flat in comparison to them and I think the cooking competition aspect of the story was a bit half-baked, but I personally didn't mind that too much.
For me, the tender and beautifully queer romance was the highlight of the story, and I really appreciated the all the authentic queer representation and powerful conversations around gender, sexuality and trans/non-binary experiences (especially through London's POV).
Would highly recommend this if you want a fun palate cleanser of a romcom that still packs a big punch and has more layers to peel back than an onion.

i received an eARC of this book via NetGalley.
i love cooking shows. i love dahlia. i love london. i love idiots falling in love and being straight up idiots. this was incredibly enjoyable and that’s all i have to say.
p.s. continue giving characters personality flaws (great example: dahlia)
p.p.s. continue making characters work through familial issues by expressing their needs for boundaries and establishing said boundaries (example: london)
p.p.p.s. make apologizing cool again!!!!

3.5 stars! I loved the nonbinary representation in this and the care the two main characters took with each other.

Immediately sucked me in, kind of dragged in the middle but finished strong. Very wholesome romance.

This book was sooooo good!! I loved the non-binary rep, it was done so well. I appreciated the support around misgendering for the NBMC.
I loved the setting of the book, the cooking show contest was so cute!!
The characters were beautiful and I loved their development and relationships!
The plot twists were predictable but so comforting. This journey was fantastic.
Would highly recommend this book!!

great queer love story, the cooking competition show setting was a unique and fun background offsetting the increasing chemistry between london and dahlia and each of their own internal battles
