Very narration-heavy/dialogue-light, made for a clunky read.
Liked that the protagonists didn't have perfect bodies, so rare in romance fiction.

Pacing was really slow for my personal taste at the beginning, but picks up quite nicely about a third of the way through. Glad to see a romance book without the miscommunication trope that still has a lot of depth too it. Was not sure how I would feel about them being on a reality show but I really love the concept and a little cooking challenges throughout the book. I did take awhile to care about Dahlia and London, but once I cared I was so invested in their story. Overall, quick read with a surprising amount of authenticity.

I actually gave this a 6/5 star!!!! This was sooo much fun! I love London and Dahlia sooo much! The discussion in this on Gender and Gender expression was some of the greatest discussions I have ever read in a book! Also putting these conversations against a cooking competition was brilliant! I will also say if you love this Helena Greer and Courtney Kae!

I really enjoyed the reality tv competition setting and the representation within this gem. These characters were such a great match and were strong on their own, and quite magical together.

I look forward to reading more from Anita Kelly ❤️

I LOVE THIS BOOK! An own-voices NB/F contemporary romance. The characters are well-developed and I instantly felt invested. There are moments of hilarity and adorable sweetness, yet also a tender and vulnerable emotional journey for both the characters. I loved watching Dahlia figure out how to live her life on her own terms. It was incredibly moving to see London gain confidence in their identity, both gender-identity and otherwise. I also loved the setting, on the set of a culinary reality TV show. Highly, highly recommend! I will definitely be reading more books by Anita Kelly!
