Like Days at the Morisaki Bookshop, this book brings its protagonist out of a slump through an exploration of why books still matter, and why we still love them. As cheesy as it sounds, I can only describe this book as a love letter to books—the ways in which they touch and touch on our lives. Reading this entirely on a plane on my phone is a bit ironic, I think, but that didn’t prevent it from rekindling the magic of books.
