The story was fine, but at this point it's not really considering much outside of who dunnit. Perhaps it gets better footing as it goes.

This was the second Brother Cadfael book, the one that Viral bought me for my birthday. The pacing was much better than the first book in the series.
The mystery was well paced and I appreciated that there was very little suspense or gore. It's strange that these books seem to objectify female youth - there's always a young girl who saves the day simply by being innocent and pure. It's really weird.
Still, a nice light read.
