A humorous, well researched and overall amazing book. North does an excellent job of bringing what some may consider mundane facts and data to life in a logical and useful way. The wide gamut of topics covered makes this book interesting (or at least parts of it) to almost everyone. I read this book as an audiobook (which was great!) but I am tempted to buy it as a physical book, in case I am ever stuck in the past during a time-travel accident. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!

That book was definitively fun. I loved the concept, I loved how not impressed the narrator was with the civilization's development, I loved the fun facts (bibliography titles give me reading ideas for the long time to come, I think) and I loved the rant about the Roman numbers. It's very dense and I got lost few times (i.e. my civilization would need to do without electricity, I'm afraid), but overall it was brilliant. And hilarious.

Idealna na prezent dla młodszego czytelnika, ale i ten starszy przeżyje mnóstwo zaskoczeń. Książka pełna ciekawostek, najlepiej ją czytać wybierając co ciekawsze punkty.

This was a silly light hearted book that was a mix of scientific primer and survival guide. Honestly the best part about the book was the light hearted framing:
"oh no your time machine broke - we wish we could give you a guide for fixing it, but that's hard. How about a guide for living in the past instead? that's way easier! (by the way we are not liable for you being stuck in the past)."
You get the framing in the first chapter, after that it proceeds to be both a mediocre science text and not particularly useful survival guide - but it remained funny enough to be worth my finishing it.

I listened to this as an audiobook and I feel that that made it only more hilarious. Loved this book from the get-go: it is absolutey, entirely my type of book. (Nerdy and funny and thoughtful!) I am sure this is not for everyone, but I could not have loved it more.
